Dallas Zoo Giraffe Having Fun With Tongue Spectacular moments at the Dallas Zoo occur when you patiently hang around, click your shutter constantly awaiting that special shot. The Giraffes are gratefully eating this sunny afternoon in their comfy habitat. The tongues were swishing, licking and flapping as I shot dozens of pics with delight! Granbury, Texas I’ve watched this Art Cabin being built from ground up over the course of a few years. My Brother created a wonderful arts and crafts log cabin for my Sister-In-Law where she can spend hours painting, reading her Bible or decorating guitars and other items. I took this photo on the day we buried my little To-To for which I cherished every moment of her 19 years with me. Since my Brother let me bury To-To out on his little ranch, I thought I would convert my original photo into a painterly and wintry scene to give to him as a Thank You gift! 1900 Storm Memorial Galveston, Texas One of my main purposes to spend a couple more days in Galveston yet once again was to capture a photo of a bronzed sculpture and monument that has become legend for this Gulf Coast town; “1900 Storm Memorial”. While I have photographed this amazing piece before I wanted to take special attention to it with a purpose to create a painting with the moon shining down on it. The monument is dedicated to victims as well as survivors of the 1900 Storm that took over 8,000 precious Galvestonian lives. David Moore, the artist, is well famous for many more notable pieces found around the city. He sadly moved on to Heaven in 2001 at the age of 80. With the devastation of Hurricane Harvey at least we didn’t suffer this grieved amount of lives taken from the Great State of Texas. Digitally Painted from my Original Photo! The Spot (Five Venues) Galveston Island Seawall Drive While The Spot is a popular and premier beachfront dining and entertainment point, they boast that every seat in their (house) “hut” is the best view of the beach! Enjoy the Gulf of Mexico while sprinkling lemon on their fresh locally caught shrimp, chomping down on their Award Winning Best Appetizers, sipping on their Ritas and hopping from one (house) spot to the next for a novel experience… Another words, you will most surely bounce from The Spot’s front entry to their Tiki Bar to their SideYard to their Rum Shack to their Squeeze’s outdoor courtyard. This was originally built from houses that were going to be torn down! For my moment here? I stood on the beach and turned around to capture a memorable view of their enticing venue! And, of course, later that evening we enjoyed their menu items and ocean front view! My original photo for use on my TravelWITWIT Blog!

Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier A day in Galveston wouldn’t be the same without a drive-by or the purchase of tickets to Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier! I call this photo “Summer Wonder” because you can’t help but remember the wonderment of riding a carousel or dawdling along an ocean front boardwalk during a vacation or family day with your loved ones. Pleasure Pier is packed with rides, dining and shopping adventures. I was pleased to see that Hurricane Harvey only did minimal amounts of damage to the pier and I caught a photo of some of the workers as they readied the rides once again! My Original Photo!

German Shephard & Sand Piper Galveston Beach Galveston Beaches are pet friendly! We took To-To with us on this trip and I am sad to say this may have been her last beach adventure since she is going on 19 years of wonderful years with me. (No Photo of To-To available yet) While we sauntered among the bubbling foam and streams of slow tides along come a scene I rushed to photograph! What a beauty this German Shepherd was to watch and I caught him just as a Sand Piper appears to make no mind to his splashing! The Dawn Condominiums and Grafitti on Galveston Beach Seawall Boulevard I’ve always been attracted to the colors that blossom throughout coastal towns. The beach homes, condos and storefronts are dripping in quintessentially themes of turquoise, bright tropical shades of peaches and limes and sprinkled with citrus cheer! While most graffiti may tell a mecca story or detail a street-wise depiction of life in unusual comic or outcry mural form, the photo I took here shows a more informational quest to teach you the safety in watching the seafood’s destination from which you eat. Hence, a Saving Wildlife styled mural and recommending to download the Seafood Watch App. Their goal is to make you aware of sealife animals that are caught in fishing nets. A Texas local artist, Mario Enrique Figueroa, Jr. (also known as GONZO247) has been a recipient of several Awards where he painted five murals to highlight the area’s wildlife and the threats and conservation work around them. An action focus for beach-goers to take in saving wildlife is painted throughout each of his murals. This mural can be found along the Seawall Boulevard between 69th Street and 73rd Street where the The Dawn Condominiums creates a colorful backdrop. Digitally Painted from my Original Photo! Lake Charles, Louisana During Hurricane Harvey I had to make a trip to rescue my nephew from the floods. Six trips back and forth across the Lake Charles I-10 bridge is where this old rickety house caught my attention. I told him I would find that house to take photos of before we left! I finally made my way down and round to find this rickety old house among the moss and vines! Ted Stevens International Airport Anchorage, Alaska I shot this photo the first time I stepped outside of the Anchorage Airport to hail a cab. My brother-in-law waited for me patiently as I ran up a bit away from the entrance to capture this snowy moment. I knew I had a great first blizzard picture and couldn't wait to get to my laptop to download and play with it! Inside the airport you might feel as though you are visiting an exhibit or museum; if you ever make it out of the bar. You will find statues, paintings, carvings and taxidermy wildlife which includes polar bear, muskoxen and a record sized Kodiak Brown Bear to name a few. I personally don't think anyone leaves this airport without purchasing an Alaska treasure or souvenir of some sort or spending a little extra time visiting the exhibits! You just can't take your beer with ya! My original photo!

Scarborough Renaissance Festival Waxahachie, Texas When you think about Medieval times, one wonders off into fairytale land where Dragons glimmer the landscape with their breath of fire. At the Ren Fair you may indulge your merry clan with oodles of dragons in all sizes and up to large statues spitting water. The shops at the festival always capture my heart and pocketbook! I can’t leave without a souvenir to relic my walls, neck or head! This photo was tough or me to work with. It would turn out all green or all gold; sadly without a focal trophy in the scene. Cowboys at Preston Ridge Shopping Center Frisco, Texas Frisco, Texas is home to over 150 open-air bronze sculptures and statues spread out across the city’s parks, shopping center passages and gardens. Some are quite visible from a drive-by and some you have to happen upon or discover within the parks. Preston Trails stretched from Dallas; south to north in the old pioneer days, changing to Old Preston Road and now simply called Preston Road. Created by the Republic of Texas in 1841 along the Red River it had been used for centuries. Today, one of our more smaller highways and well-traveled is now Texas State Highway 289 which follows near the former road. Preston Ridge Shopping Center in Frisco is home to a cowboy scene with a small pond hosting a lone longhorn taking a sip of refreshing water. While the cowboys comfortably camp and drink their all-fired Arbuckle”s you can’t help to wonder what their conversation must be. I took the scene an edited out the cars, shops and modern city-life to prepare something more western amplified to give them a more true drover and cowpoke appeal!

Quite the unique and handsome young man that he is, I have followed him around taking pictures of his play times since he was born. Panoply Of Past Mission Nuestra Señora de la Purisima Concepción de Acuña Mission Concepcion ~ San Antonio, Texas What you see here is my art works from an original photo I took in the summer of 2014. Tripping through the world wide web, you will find photos taken of this glorious Church Of Mission Concepcion and the transformation of it's grounds and stone. Originally, the outer was painted with colorful geometric designs which have faded over time. Some original frescos can be found in various indoor rooms and ceilings. Dedicated in 1755, this is the oldest church in America! Missions in San Antonio stretch across the city and you can't really visit each to it's fullness in just one day. This Mission kept me quite entertained with all it's stairways to various rooms and sections. The cathedral was amazing! And, of course, church services are held regularly; still serving the community! I took a lot of time at each one and have a flock of photographs yet to present, but one by one they are landing here for you to see and hopefully buy for your wall decor!
